3 Stars Self Assessed Guest House

This grand old lady is over 400 years old and looks it. Like a great and loveable matriarch, she dominates the tiny hamlet of Nympsfield, midway between Stroud and Dursley. Her reputation for excellence however, spreads much further afield. Owners, Craig & Rebecca Mee, set a new standard for country inns with their flair for good wholesome cuisine. Throughout the Cotswolds and the Gloucestershire countryside The Rose & Crown's hospitality has become synonimous with good food and first class service. As you check out of this heart-warming venue, the intention to return is certain to be at the front of your mind.

The Rose & Crown is a beautiful Cotswold stone built Country Inn. The Inn consists of a cosy bar serving local ales and a stunning restaurant with open ceiling and exposed beams where traditional meals are served all day throughout.

The restaurant, with its high open ceiling and exposed original beam work, lit by an array of tinted lights bringing out the antique features and looks stunning. Our food is traditional and affordable and features local game and produce where available.

These great value meals are also served in the bar and gardens. Our varied menu includs homemade pies and Sunday Roasts as well as lighter snacks such as sandwiches and homemade soup. Food is served daily from 12 PM and while booking is not essential, booking is recommended in the restaurant as we can get very busy, especially at weekends.

WALKERS WELCOME, DOGS ALSO WELCOME IN THE BAR AND GARDEN

Our cosy bar, open from 11.30 Monday - Saturday and 12 on Sundays, offers a rural retreat in a traditional Country Inn serving local real ales and draft beers along with a modest, carefully selected wine list.

The bar features both an original open log fire and log burner, perfect for warming up on a cold winters day. Alongside the Inn are also 3 garden areas including an enclosed private beer garden to the rear and large child friendly play area with play are

Hiking the Cotswold Way. Had been hoping to avoid yet another Greene King pub. The en suite was excellent (you need a deep bath after 18 miles and a full pack). The bed was difficult to get out of the next morning it was so comfortable. Room simply enchanting. The dining room was effectively a vaulted beamed banquet hall. Excellent! Apparently they have a cracking folk music session on Wednesdays too.
